Pike Angling

Bilberry & Lannagh Angling Club held a boat competition on Sunday, 4 November on Bilberry Lake and Lough Lannagh near Castlebar.

Twenty-eight pike anglers took part in the event and a total of 82 pike weighing 216 lbs. were caught. The competition was won by Mat Fahey & Mat Higgins with 6 pike for 38 lbs. and Tom O’Brian fishing together with Nigel Harcourt finished in 2nd place. The heaviest fish of the day was landed by Castlebar angler, Brian Kelly. Brian’s fine pike weighed in at 19.9 lbs.
