Ballin Lough
Angling was excellent on Ballin Lough during the week, with 30 rods catching a total of 72 trout, 63 of which were released.
Amongst the successful anglers were John Flaherty & friend with 5 trout, best at 3 lbs. and Richard King & friend who had 15 trout (14 released). Elsewhere, John Cowen & David Quinn, Co. Galway had 17 rainbows (14 released), best at 3.25 lbs., while Stephen McManus & friend caught 8 trout (6 released) with best at 4 lbs.
Most successful flies were: Green Peter, Octopus and Green Montana
This prolific rainbow trout fishery remains open until the end of October. To book a boat on Ballin Lough, anglers should contact Mrs. Gill, beside the lake, on 098-26128.
