Ballin Lough 

Ballin Lough continued to fish well despite the worsening weather conditions experienced towards the end of the week. A total of twenty two rods fished the lough, accounting for a total of 87 rainbow trout, 51 of these being safely released.

Successful anglers included Jimmy Gibson, Westport who landed seven trout all of which were released including his best fish at 4lbs. Ian Wise also had seven rainbow, five of which were released, the best of his fish weighing in at 2.5lbs. Ronan Gibbons, Galway also had a successful trip, with five trout caught, three released and his best fish a 5lb rainbow. Finally John Warren and friend had seven trout, with four being released and the biggest being 3.5lbs.  The most successful flies on Ballin Lough again include the Bibio, Minkies, Nymphs and the Peter Ross. 

The season on Ballin Lough ends on 31 October and the lake will reopen in Spring, 2010.
