Mayo’s first Youth Bank ‘Castle Cash’ has opened! We are in partnership with Foroige, Ulster bank the Irish Youth Foundation and the Irish Community Foundation.

We have a grant fund to share out among young people and youth groups in Castlebar town. Young people between the ages of 14 and 20 can apply. A series of interviews will take place prior to granting the money. The closing date for all applications is 27 February 27 2009.

Castlebar's new Youthbank, Castle Cash is a grant scheme set up for young people and is run by young people. There are 12 Transition Year students from Castlebar on the Youthbank team, four from St. Geralds, four from Davitt College and four from St. Josephs.

Castle Cash is the Youth Bank for Castlebar, Co. Mayo. It is based in the Youth Information Centre (also known as The Kipp) on Pavillion Road, Castlebar. Grants are available from the Youthbank for young people and application forms will soon be available in the Y.I.C. YouthBank is an exciting youth-led grant-making initiative operating across the Island of Ireland, funded by Ulster Bank. Local YouthBanks are run by young people for young people. If you are a young person with a good idea you could get funding to make it happen from your local YouthBank.
