Emerge Skillnet is the only ethnic business training network in Ireland.  Emerge Skillnet runs heavily subsidised training courses for ethnic entrepreneurs and their businesses and indigenous companies with migrant employees.  The training is funded by the National Training Fund until December 2009 and subsidies can be as high as 90% of the cost of the training.

Emerge Skillnet is a national programme but will operate initially in Dublin, Cork, Galway and Mayo.  The author is originally from Ballyhaunis and when applying for funding was anxious to bring the Emerge Skillnet to Mayo.

A training programme on "Understanding Selling Skills in Ireland" will be held next Monday, 19th May 2008, in the Travellers Friend Hotel at 9.30am - 4.30pm.  Cost to the membership of Emerge Skillnet is €95 per annum and each day course will cost only €40.  Lunch is included in the cost. Places are limited and booking is essential and advise on special dietary requirements.

English language training (FETAC Levels 3,4 or 5) is also available for migrant employees at just €20 per day. (min 6 days required).
