How to Build a Start Up Successfully will be the topic at New Business Network

Run by Entrepreneurs for Entrepreneurs!

INC60 is a new business network for start up's focusing on entrepreneurial topics in the West. It is a fast paced, (60mins) and thought provoking session for business people. It was set up by entrepreneurs based at the GMIT Innovation Hub in Castlebar and is kindly sponsored by Lionbridge Technologies.

Next month's meeting will take place on Friday 2nd May in the GMIT Innovation Hub Castlebar at 9.30am where serial tech entrepreneur Raomal Perera will give a brief pre recorded presentation on "How to Build a Start Up Successfully".

Raomal Perera is a veteran of multiple entrepreneurial ventures and an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at INSEAD where he currently teaches and studies entrepreneurship, innovation and the management of rapidly growing companies. He is an educator and loves to work with entrepreneurs. He uses an interesting mix of his hands-on experience of building successful companies and the more recent experience of academia and research in helping companies GET, KEEP and GROW their customers, using a number of highly effective tools and processes.

Raomal co-founded two technology companies; ISOCOR was listed on NASDAQ in 1996 and subsequently acquired by Critical Path in 1999. Network365 acquired US company iPin and formed Valista in 2003. Valista was acquired by Aepona in 2009 and Aepona was acqured by Intel in 2013.

Raomal was a recipient of the Irish Software Association's (ISA) Outstanding Software Achievement Award in 2003. He was also a finalist in the Ernst & Young ‘Entrepreneur of the Year' awards. Headed by Raomal, Valista also won a number of industry accolades, ranging from the Wall Street Journal Innovation GOLD award for business, and the Mobile World Congress Award for the most innovative product.

During the 60 minute meeting, the audience is grouped to brainstorm the topic and questions will be put together for the speaker who skypes in live at the end of the meeting.

Maria Staunton - Manager from GMIT Innovation Hub Castlebar commented "INC60 just started up in 2014 and we have had two previous sessions on crowdfunding and 5 steps of employment law and how to mitigate them. Both were very interesting and thought provoking. INC60 is all about creating a new network that can deliver good quality relevant content for start-ups based in the west. Being based in the West does not mean that start-ups cannot gain access to the important information they require however this network is all about delivering that content and making sure the entrepreneurs are involved in the delivery.

Booking is advisable as places are limited and the session is FREE to attend.

Light Refreshments are kindly sponsored by Mayo County Enterprise Board.

Please email our organisers today info@inc60.com to reserve your place for this new and exciting network.
