On Thursday a Facebook account called TK Maxx To Castlebar was set up. This account aims to convince TK Maxx, who have recently opened in Clonmel to open up their 18th store in Castlebar. The account has picked up 267 friends so far.

Tk Maxx operates stores in towns similar in size to Castlebar including Arklow, Clonmel and Tralee. Clonmel is the newest of these stores, which opened last month. The account has put up a few pictures on the account of possible locations for TK Maxx including the building which on Market square that Paul Byrons is a part of, The former Homebase building and Flannellys on Ellison Street. Judging on these chosen locations the account seems to be in favour of locating TK Maxx in the town centre.

The account has made it clear they need as many friends as possible and welcome all friend requests which would prove to TK Maxx the demand in the town.

Many rumours have gone around the town over the last few years that TK Maxx was coming but none became reality. Last year before Christmas the town received the boost of multinationals Costa Coffee and Pamela Scott ariving in the town and locals will sure to be looking for this kind of boost again.
