Castlebar Mitchels began their Feile 2007 campaign in Kilmacow, Kilkenny today, June 15th. They played their host team Kilmacow and found them a difficult side to score against. The Kilmacow squad showed all the craft of Kilkenny hurlers and notched up a final total of 3.12 to 1.1 though the scoreline was not a true reflection of Castlebar's battling contribution to the game. Hopefully the remaining two fixtures tomorrow, Saturday, will hold better fortune for the team from the West. The lads from Castlebar would like to thank their hosts Kilmacow for their great hospitality and organization of the event and also their hosts last night, Holy Cross in Tipperary who provided them with a welcome stopover on their journey to the South East.

The lads from Tooreen had a good win in their section against a gallant Carrickshock team and their female counterparts also had a good win, again against Kilmacow winning by a comfortable margin in the end.

All the teams taking part in Feile attended the parade in Kilkenny city after their matches today. The colour and size of the event can clearly be seen in the photos. The parade began in Nowlan Park and ended in St. Kieran's College.
