Training for Minors U21 and Seniors continues at Ballyvary on Wednesdays at 7.30pm and Sundays at 12 noon and Friday nights under lights at McHale Park at 7.30pm.

U16 training at 6.30 pm in Ballyvary.on Wednesdays.

U8 & U10 & U12 Coaching continues every Wednesday at 5.45pm in McHale Park.

Mitchels got back to winning ways with an impressive win against visitors Ballygar on Sunday in Round 4 of the Suck Valley League. Played in excellent conditions the home side always looked the sharper and held the initiative throughout. Points from Darragh Hayes (2), Kevin Keena (2) and Art O'Suilleabhain gave Mitchels a five point lead at half time despite playing against the breeze. Ballygar missed a few scoring chances and were somewhat unlucky not to be closer at the break.

The pattern continued in the second period with Castlebar continuing to press and picking off their points. Two goals from Conor Mylett put a sizeable gap between the sides and Mitchels never let up to finish comfortable winners in the end. A feature of the game was the excellent display by Kevin Keena at mid field, including two marvellous points, where he fielded Ballygar puck outs and dispatched them back over the bar-one on his right side and one on his left.

Castlebar had good performances from Cathal Walsh, Diarmuid Finnan and Gregory Robinson in defence. Kevin Keena and David Bell dominated at mid field and up front Darragh Hayes, Art O'Suilleabhain and Conor Mylett did best.
