Hurling on the Green Comments from 2005

"Hurling on the Green made me a much better hurler. Everyday we’d learn something new. We were also told to start using our weak side and now my weak side is the same as my strong side. I started as a beginner before Hurling on the Green and now I am great. I had a great summer". Andrew aged 9

"I liked it because it got me out of bed at 9am. I started hurling when I was 7 years old. I learned how to hold the hurley right and how to jab lift and roll lift".

"Hurling on the Green will be one of the best things you will ever do. I know, because I was there. We played hurling and lots of other fun stuff. The coaches were very caring and it was the best way to spend your summer". Dylan aged 9.

"It meant my whole life doing it. I made new friends. I learned blocking, lifting the ball, chipping and pucking. It was fun until the day was done. I loved Hurling on the Green". Conor aged 10

"I never knew how to jab lift but now I do". Grace aged 10

"The hurling was cool. I learned how to chip the ball and to give a drop shot and how to wallup the ball to the other side of the Mall, well far enough. I had lots of fun and made lots of friends". David aged 8

"I enjoyed Hurling on the Green because I learned loads of skills and I think it was organised really well". Eamon 5th Class

"I had great fun at blocking and hooking". James aged 8
