Connacht Ladies Senior Club League Quarter-Final
Mitchels girls into Connacht semi
Castlebar Mitchels 4-7 St Brigids 2-6

A second half blitz by the Castlebar ladies in Ballintober, Roscommon, secured a famous victory and a place in the semi-final of the Connacht Senior Club League. St. Brigids are the reigning All-Ireland junior club champions and were expected to advance at the expense of the Mayo girls but three goals from Linda Barrett and another from Thelma Healy ensured it was Castlebar who progressed to a meeting with Carnacon.
Ann Nolan and Siobhan Lawlor chipped in with two points apiece while Claire O’Hara added another. Other star performers on the day where bright sunshine took it’s toll on the players, were Louise Lydon and Kathryn Sullivan on the half back line and Linda Connolly and Fiona McLoughlin who shared the duties between the posts.
