Seconds

The season ended for the seconds on a disappointing note when they were defeated in the final of the second’s league by Westport on a score of 21-13. Castlebar’s scores coming from Padraig Healy and Alan Gavin with excellent tries. While this will be disappointing to lose the final, this team will go far and proves that there are some excellent players coming through the ranks. Well done lads!

Mini Rugby

Castlebar hosted the under 8 and 9 Connaught blitz on Sunday last and it was an outstanding success with both teams going through the day unbeaten. Fantastic displays were the order of the day and well done to all for a job well done.

Castlebar Under 8’s: Mark McDonnell, Paul Walsh, Calum Kyne, Sam Hastings, Ryan Potter, Ultan McDwyer, Eimhin Morrin, Patrick Burke, Dylan Hughes, Cillian Prendegast, Keelan Finan, Fintan Borato, Owen Browne, Hugh Gaffney, John Maughan, Robert Burke, Cillian O’Brien.

Castlebar Under 9’s: Sean Tobin, Cillian Melly, Conor Carter, Conor Quinn, Shane McCormack, Gary Walsh, Brien Allen, Karl Benson, James Gallagher, James Byrne, Pat Corless.

The Under 11’s are in action next week with the Connacht Blitz which is being held this year in Monivea. All Players must be at the Courthouse at 9am.

U12s:

The 12 Rugby Team which took part in the Annual Connacht Rugby Under 12 Blitz at Corinthians Ground in Galway on Saturday April 23 - see separate article with photos.

The suits have been got. The plans are in place and all is ready. The Castlebar RFC annual celebration that is our black tie dinner will take place on Friday night next in the Clubhouse. Tickets are now limited and can be got from Paddy Durcan.

The AGM of Castlebar RFC will take place on Tuesday May 23^rd at the clubhouse starting at 8.30pm. It is very important that as many members attend as possible as the coming year will be a very important year for the Club.

Lotto: Friday the 5^th of May in Byrne’s main street. Rory Casey‘s team promote this month. All players must return tickets as soon as possible. Jackpot is 7,200 euro.
