Firsts
The Firsts were in action on Sunday against OLBC at the Sportsground but had to give second best to the city side on a score of 15-8. OLBC started the brighter and led 15-0 at half time before Castlebar came back with a try and a penalty.  Nigel Byrne was unfortunate not to have his try allowed that would have sparked a comeback. In the end the city ran out winners by seven points.

Seconds
The Seconds kept their league ambitions alive with a brilliant win in terrible conditions on Sunday last over OLBC at the Sportsground. The 20-12 win will be seen as one of the highlights of the year. OLBC lead 5-3 at half time before Castlebar came back to take the lead with Danny Cunningham who was in excellent form and kicked two penalties and two conversions in total. Chris Rogan and Richie Moylette scored two excellent tries to give Castlebar a famous victory. But this was a team Display of the highest calibre with Fintan Casey putting in a man of the match performance.  Well done lads!

Under 18
The under team were in action on Sunday against Tuam at Cloondeash and played some brilliant rugby in what turned out to be a 22-22 draw. David Langan, Damien McLoughlin and Fintan Casey were the try scorers with Stephen keane kicking the remainder. Next up for the lads is Ballina in Ballina next Sunday. Training continues on Wednesday night and players will be briefed on kick off times and travelling arrangements.


Mini Rugby
Mini Rugby training continues next Saturday at the Clubhouse at 10.30am and we hope to see everyone out as it plans to be a very busy year with some important games and Blitzes taking place.

Lotto
The Next Lotto takes place on Friday the 2nd February in Rays with a jackpot of 8,000 euro. Paddy Durcan’s team are on duty. The match three winners from December were M Heneghan and R Gallagher. Congratulations to them.

Annual Dress Dance
The night of Friday 20th April has been proposed as the date for the Annual Dress Dance – IF ANYBODY HAS A REASON FOR CHANGING (CLASHING WITH OTHER EVENTS) PLEASE CONTACT RORY CASEY ON 087-2860235 ASAP –
Otherwise we will settle on this date.
