Seconds

The Seconds played Monivea on Sunday last in the Ard Na Cregg Shield and despite a wonderful performance by the lads in which they led 8-3 at one stage, they had to give second best to the Home side. This ends the second’s involvement in this competition but players are reminded that the Mayo Seconds cup semi finals and final are fast approaching so players must attend training.

Under 18

The Under 18 team faced All Ireland champions Ballinasloe in the quarter final of the cup in Cloondeash last Sunday. Despite giving as good as they got over the eighty minutes in which they played some of the best rugby of the year and were rewarded with an excellent try from Padraic Healy, they got caught in a five minute spell before half time in which the National champions showed their character and pulled away with the win. Credit must go to the coaching staff and the players for an excellent season.

Mini Rugby

The Connacht under 8 and under 9 blitz was re scheduled for last Sunday in Castlebar but unfortunately that had to be cancelled due to the bad weather and the state of the pitch. Hopefully this will be played in the near future.

The under 10 Blitz scheduled for Ballina was also cancelled. This will also take place at a later date.

Dress Dance

Due to a clash of dates, the Dress Dance has now been moved back a week to Friday 28th April, in the clubhouse.

Lotto: The draw was held on Friday night in Johnny McHales Castlebar with a Jackpot of 7,300. More news on the draw next week.
