Firsts

The first team played Ballinrobe in the Cresham Cup on Sunday last which also doubled as a league fixture. A team hit by injury gave it their all but however our luck deserted us again with a defeat from eleven points to six. Castlebar's points coming from the boot of Robbie Cusack. This was a disappointing defeat but the team are picking themselves up for some cracking games over the next couple of weeks.

Seconds

The draw for the Junior B league has been finallised and Castlebar were due to face Creggs last sunday. However with so many seconds players going to the firsts due to our injury crisis, the game had to be postponed. Training continues on tuesday night.

Ladies

Training Continues on wednesday nights and all plans are now in place for the fashion show that will take place in the Failte suite of the Welcome Inn on Feburary 18th. All are welcome and all proceeds go towards the running of the Ladies team.

Under 14s

The under 14 team played Ballina. This under 14 team were the under 12 team from last season an had to give way against a much stonger and more experienced Ballina team. Despite the lads giving their all, Ballina ran out winners in the end.

Under 18s

Once again Castlebar's under 18 team did their club proud with a wonderful display against Ballina. In what was a real cracker of a game, Castlebar showed great team spirit and despite being slightly smaller in size, showed great heart to win 18 points to five. under 18s played ballina and beat them 18-5. Absolute cracker of a game. CastlebarĀ“s defence were fantastic. Beat back wave after wave with pure spirit, gave meaning to the term, playing like a team. would be unfair to single anyone out. A physically smaller back division showed true courage and determination under severe pressure.
