Firsts

Castlebar Firsts were in action on Sunday when they faced the mighty Monivea in the first round of the cup. However Castlebar belied their status as underdogs to dominate the game and were unfortunate to lose by just eight points. Special tribute must go to the lads who gave it their all and with just a couple of games left in the season, it is fair to say that the corner has being taken. Best wishes too to Dale Jones who had to receive treatment on an injured hand.

Seconds

The seconds were drawn in the Ard Na Cregg to play Ballyhaunis. However with the game clashing with the first game against Monivea, the tie has been refixed for next weekend. This tie may not go ahead as it clashes with the international weekend so players are asked to stay tuned to local radio for more details and to contact Michael Cunningham if unavailable.

Ladies news

The season is now over for the ladies after their final game of the season against Carrickfergus last weekend. However all players are reminded that there are friendlies coming up in the next couple of weeks and training continues as usual.

Mini Rugby

Castlebar were due to play Creggs but sadly the weather beat both sides. Training also had to be put back but all going well training will resume on Saturday next at the usual time.

Under 14

Training continues on Wednesday night and there are a few friendlies coming up shortly so all players are asked to attend.

Under 16

The under 16 plate game scheduled for last Sunday had to be postponed due to the weather with no new date as of the moment. Players are reminded that training continues as usual at 7pm on Wednesday.

Under 18

After the disappointment of last Sunday, the season is not over yet and Castlebar still have an important plate clash to look forward to. Training continues on Wednesday night.

Important notice

Members are asked to stay tuned to MWR and CRC for details on upcoming games as at the time of writing certain games may not go ahead.
