Firsts news

Last Saturday evening was one to forget for the firsts as they were defeated by Monivea in the league. Despite the game being very close in the opening 17 minutes, Monivea showed exactly why they are the hot favourites with a display of powerful, running rugby that was impossible to play against. Despite that defeat, it does not put Castlebar out of the running as regards the league and the next two games against Ballinrobe and Corinthians are now more important than before. Next Sunday the firsts travel to Ballinrobe in the first of the local derbies and local support is vital. Kick off is at 3pm and training continues on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
