From Castlebar - County Mayo - Castlebar Rugby Club The 26th of January is always a special day for rugby fans in the Castlebar area but this year, everyone is in for a special treat with three games to look forward to.
First of all the under 16/18 teams will be showing why they have been doing well in the league. This will be followed by the game between Castlebar Captain’s 15 who will take on Castlebar President’s 15. This game is always exciting and eventful and is a perfect tonic after all that turkey and ham! Then at 4.30 comes the highlight of the evening. The Tommy Staunton memorial match bringing those former greats of Castlebar RFC out of retirement and on to the pitch for a lot of fun and frolics. Expect some classic names in the game of rugby to brighten a great day. You just never know who will be making an appearance. To round things off Castlebar RFC will be holding their monthly lotto in the clubhouse with an excellent Jackpot of 3,200 euros.
