Castlebar's top swimmers compete in Galway - Jimmy Cranny Memorial Gala

Twelve of the top swimmers from Castlebar Swimming Club travelled to Galway for the Jimmy Cranny Memorial Gala on Saturday April 03.
- Cian Holland continued his winning ways as he took three gold medals in Senior Mens 50m. Freestyle in a time of 24.64, 50m Butterfly in a time of 26.59 and 100m I.M. in a time of 1:03.15.
- Colm Garrick was in superb form and took two golds in Senior Mens 50m Backstroke in a time of 29.88 and in 50m Breaststroke in a time of 33.01.
- Cian and Colm then went on to swim the 4x25m Freestyle relay with Ciaran Garrick and Jimmy Wiseman and again took gold in a time of 47.14.
- Laura Keaveney U. 15 was in superb form and took silver in 50m Butterfly, 4th in 100m I.M. and reached finals in 50m Freestyle and 50m Breaststroke.
- Jill Magee reached finals in 50m Freestyle, 100m I.M. and 50m Br/St.and took bronze in each event.
- Darragh Quinn, another fine young swimmer reached 4th place in 100m I.M. and 5th in 50m Br/St.
- Sarah Wiseman was finalist in 50m Butterfly in a time of 34.10 and reserve finalist in 50m Freestyle.
- Anthony English was reserve finalist in 50m Butterfly.
- Jimmy Wiseman and Michael Walls were both finalists in the Senior Boys 50m Butterfly.
- Dara Dever took 4th place in 50m Breaststroke in a time of 33.77.
- Zoe Davis was reserve finalist in 50m Butterfly in a time of 35.14.
Overall some very good form being displayed which augurs well for the National Long Distance Championships in Limerick.
