Ten Castlebar swimmers formed part of the Mayo swimming contingent who helped their province claim victory in the Irish Senior Schools Interprovincial Championships. It was a sweet victory for Connacht - their first time to take the title, closely followed by Leinster in second place, with Ulster third, and Munster placing fourth. Connacht swimmers represented the region with distinction in the competition which was held at the National Aquatic Centre, Dublin on 5th May 2014.

Several Mayo schools were represented on the Connacht senior schools swim team - St. Gerald's, St.Joseph's, and Breaffy N.S (all Castlebar); Sacred Heart School, Westport; St.Muredach's College, Ballina; and Mount St. Michael, Claremorris. Well done to all.
