Swimming - Long Course and B&C Gala

A team of 6 Senior Squad swimmers travelled to Limerick on April 11/12/13th to represent Castlebar Swimming Club at the IRISH LONG COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS..

These swimmers competed with the best in Ireland in the new 8 lane 50m pool and we saw the Irish Junior Record tumble in the 100m Butterfly as Cian Holland took the title in a time of 56.88 . This was a tremendous swim by Cian and he continued his winning ways by reaching A finals in 50m Butterfly and 200m Butterfly.

Colm Garrick was in blistering form as he reached B Finals in 50m Backstroke, 200m Backstroke and 50 m Breaststroke.

There were some other fine individual performances also;
Darragh Quinn reached the B Finals in 400m Individual Medley and 200 m Breaststroke.
Jimmy Wiseman had a great weekend and showed his mettle in 100m Breaststroke, 100m Butterfly, 200m Breaststroke and 200m Individual Medley.

Dara Dever swam in the 50m Breaststroke, 200-m Breaststroke and was reserve finalist in the 200m Individual Medley.

Jill Magee swam the 100m Freestyle and was reserve finalist in 200m Breaststroke events to round off yet another terrific performance for Castlebar Swimming Club.

Deirdre Ni Domhnaill, Ita Heneghan, Vicky Staunton, Charles O Malley, Triona Ni Domhnaill.
