PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES AT CLOGHER HERITAGE

A DAY NOT TO BE MISSED!

The highlight of the month's activities is our Annual Family Fun Day on Saturday August 23rd as part of National Heritage Week. This year's event promises to be bigger and better than last year.

  • Walk each Wednesday on the Clogher Bog Loop Walk-a Nationally Accredited Loop Walk.
  • Each Thursday we are having a Seanchas Hour- a Storytelling Hour commencing at 11a.m.

Visiting Clogher Heritage Centre offers a chance to visit an area of South Mayo seldom visited by tourists. Those who do visit however are impressed by the beauty of Clogher Bog Loop Walk with its amazing biodiversity.

It also offers an opportunity to cast an eye of nostalgia on a way of life almost now completely gone from rural Mayo with its 19th century thatched cottage, a restored blacksmith's forge, an impressive display of farm implements and a chance to become a "countryside detective" and examine the flora and fauna available in the bogland, fen and hedgerows in the locality.
