Castlebar Youthbank is a community grant scheme for the young people of Castlebar, and surrounding areas.

Castlebar Youthbank is now in its second year - supplying grant aid to youth groups and projects and their latest grant round is now open for submissions.

There are very few opportunities for young people to access project money so this scheme is a particularly valuable opportunity for local community groups working with the youth of the area.

Castlebar Youth Bank is now open for business for the second year running. Working in partnership with Foroige, Ulster bank the Irish Youth Foundation and the Irish Community Foundation. We have a grant fund to share out among young people and youth groups in Castlebar town. This year we are also offering this opportunity to surrounding communities such as Balla, Islandeady, Ballyvary and other areas.

Young people between the ages of 12 and 20 can apply now for this funding and interviews will take place prior to the granting of the money. Some of the groups funded in our last grant round include, Castlebar Table Tennis Club, The Karen Weaving Group, St. Gerald's College Project Team and others.

This year we are also happy to announce and additional grant fund available specifically for financial learning and education projects as part of our Moneysense programme in association with Ulster Bank

So if you and your friends or youth group think you have a good idea which could use a little help from us please get your application in now.

The closing date for all applications is 9th March 2010 and application forms are available at Castlebar Youth Information Centre - 094-9028674 or from ybcastlebar@gmail.com don't hesitate to contact us with any queries or to check the eligibility of your project or area.

We are looking forward to hearing from you soon!!
