Challenge The Greenway Supports CF

The second annual 'Challenge The Greenway' event organized by Johnny Oosten was once again held in March of this year supporting the Cystic Fibrosis build at Mayo General Hospital. The challenge was to walk,run,or cycle the 43k route from Achill to Westport. On a bitterly cold day with easterly winds,we are delighted to say that all that took part, finished the event and by doing so have helped the committee make this build possible.

A special thank you to Sheena Van Den Oosten for the design of www.challengethegreenway.com. The website this year was voted the best charity website in the country and picked up an Eircom Spider Award.

Also many thanks to Johnny's family Ann,Katie and John Van Den Oosten, to Caroline Leneghan Mac Menamon Newport for all her work behind the scenes ,Mary and Denis Dunleavey, Caroline Heffernan C.F.advocate and her team, Katie Hughes Attymass ,Joe Fenton ,Newport Civil Defence , Castlebar Order Of Malta ,An Garda Síochána, Mayo County Council , Aofe Murray , Irene Sweeney , The Greenway land owners , Supervalu Castlebar , Country Fresh, Morans Coach Hire ,Óstán Oileán Acla, Westport Woods Hotel , CRCfm , MWRfm,the Mayo Advertiser,Connaught Telegraph and all who volunteered their time throughout the entire event.
