Supporting those bereaved by suicide.

The Family Centre at Chapel St., Castlebar are providing a one day training event for those who support people affected by suicide. The training will take place on Saturday November 14th starting at 10.30 a.m. It is particularly suitable for counsellors, mental health staff, medical and nursing staff and similar professionals . The presenter of the training is Máire Ní Dhomhnaill. Máire is the counsellor responsible for the Mayo Suicide Bereavement Liaison service for the past four years and is very experienced in this area of work. Booking essential at 094 90 25900.

Helping children with Autism.

Two parents will share their experience of ways that they have found helpful to support their son who was diagnosed with autism. In recent times they have found new ways of communicating with him which has enabled him to enjoy a better quality of life and open up possibilities they had all hoped for. Caroline and Brian Galvin will share this learning with anybody who would like to attend an informal talk they will give in the Family Centre, Chapel St., Castlebar on Monday 16th November starting at 7.30 p.m. Booking essential at 094 90 25900
