From Castlebar - County Mayo - Community Groups Keelogues - Ballyvary Magazine 2009 The 2009 edition of the Keelogues - Ballyvary Magazine was launched last Saturday night, 12th December, in The Village Inn, Ballyvary.
Well known artist, Pat Goff, was on hand to perform the official launch. Pat, originally from Wexford, but living in Mayo for over 40 years is a retired Garda Sergeant who has spent much of his retired life promoting art in Mayo and has provided many free art classes for budding artists around the county. Pat is a former member of the Mayo Arts Council and this year has brought out a set of Christmas cards in aid of the Chesire Home. There was a large crowd in attendance for the launch and they were entertained on the night by local musican Eamon McNicholas. This year the Magazine's editorial committee took on board the feedback received from last year's edition. The 2009 Magazine contains a good mix of articles - history, sport, general interest, etc - and photos old and new. The Magazine is now on sale in local retail outlets and copies are going fast so don't waste any time getting your copy. At just €5 it's the bargain of the year.
