Mayo Intercultural Action (MIA) invites you to come along on Friday 22 August (between 10 am and 4 pm) to take part in an innovative weaving project.  You can come along for as long or as short a time as you like.  The important thing is to participate and be part of helping us create a communal weave piece which will then be displayed in the MIA offices.

Mervoee Guerin, an artist and weaver, will be facilitating this weaving project.  The skills will be taught individually and no prior experience is needed, just a willingness to play with shapes, colours and textures, with others from different cultures and backgrounds. Materials will be provided and you can choose from a wide range of fabrics, fibres, textiles and many other materials.  However, feel free to bring along something you wish to incorporate into the weaving. You can weave a line, or something more intricate: we want you to participate and help us create a communal weaving piece for our project.

If you want to find out more, you can contact Mayo Intercultural Action (MIA) at 094 904 4511 or miamayo@eircom.net or just drop in on Friday 22 August next.  MIA offices are located in the Social Services Centre, Castle St. Car Park (behind Archway Stores). We look forward to seeing you there.  Refreshments will be provided.  Fáilte roimh chách / everyone welcome.
