Crimlin Community Arts to resume Winter Term Classes

Calling all budding musicians, why not learn drumming, percussion and pipes with Crimlin Community Arts who will be resuming its percussion and piping Classes on the 27th of September in the Burren School (just 3 miles outside Castlebar). Starting at 11am and running until 1pm every Saturday for an 8 week term, the classes are aimed at 7-14 year olds.

Students who attend the classes go on to join Batafada Samba Band and / or Crimlin Batafada Pipe Band. Both bands have an active performance schedule locally and nationally. Crimlin Batafada Pipe Band performed in competitions in Wexford, Omagh, Malahide and Enniskillen and were placed 8th in the All Ireland Pipe Band Championships earlier this year. Both Bands also played at St. Patrick's Day parades around Mayo.

The bands also perform internationally with Crimlin Batafada Pipe Band attending the Europeade Festival in Germany in 2013 with the Samba Band performing at Disney World in Florida and the Savannah St. Patricks Day Festival in 2011.
