Two times world champion sean-nós dancer, Edwina Guckian, had the Castlebar launch of her new dance DVD, Second Nature, in Cox's, Tucker Street on Thursday July 30th at 9pm. Edwina is very well known, not only for her dancing but also as the 2013 Leitrim Rose Of Tralee. She runs her own dance company based in Carrick-on-Shannon called Sean-Nós Ar An tSionann. This dance group represented the West in Ireland's Got Talent in 2011 and got all the way to the final. Edwina travels the world bringing her dancing style to thousands of people who now have the "sean-nós bug" and is just back from a rocking performance in France with We Banjo 3. She also is very involved with Chernobyl Children International and regularly travels there as a volunteer.
Second Nature was filmed all around Edwina's native Leitrim and features some beautiful landscape footage. Edwina is joined on the DVD by many of her musician friends including Stephen Doherty, Sean Gilrane, Mick Mulvey & Shane Meehan to name but a few along with dancers Lillie Crossley, Liam Scanlon & Ryan Owens to add to the steps. She also features tutorials on the recordings so anyone that would like to learn a few steps in their own time, this is a great place to start.

On Thursday Edwina launched the DVD in the company of Stephen Doherty and Pat Coyne at Cox's, Castlebar and also joined by dancers Liam Scanlon, Charlene Morrison and making a special appearance up-and-coming stars, Johnny & Molly Granahan. The night was part of the award winning "Cox's Irish Night" - a very special night of fantastic music, fun but most of all, sean-nós dancing.
