Hosted by Henry McGlade, one of the best known figures in the entertainment business and an experienced presenter and compere, " Entertainment Ireland" is due to go out on Saturday nights at 9 pm, followed by a mid-week repeat.

Produced by Kevin Griffiths and his team at Frame Productions at its studios in Claremorris, it will be the first programme of its kind to be screened on the Sky 191, Irish TV Channel, and will be aimed at both home and overseas audiences.

Said Henry McGlade " This show will be a mix of everything that is best in the Irish entertainment business. It will be loosely based on a Late Late format and will be lively and fast paced. We will have appearances by a range of celebrities from Dolores Keane to the Saw Doctors, Brendan Grace to the X Factor's Mary Byrne. And we will have performances from the High Kings, Maura O'Connell, Tommy Fleming and a host of others."

He said that a special feature of the show will be a spotlight on new emerging Irish talent.

" We will have a special section devoted to new Irish talent, which will be presented by well known Broadcaster song writer singer and musician Michael Fox and I am delighted to say that we have discovered some wonderful new performers in the course of our pre-programme research", said Henry.

" For many of those new talents, Entertainment Ireland will be the breakthrough they need and deserve ", he said.

The first ten programmes in the series are currently being recorded in Claremorris,

" We want to make Entertainment Ireland the must-watch Saturday night viewing for viewers at home and overseas ", says McGlade.

" We believe that our mix of chat, humour, live music and personality interviews will win over a major slice of the viewing public in a short time", he said.

While it is a sign of the confidence of the producers in the quality of the show that Entertainment Ireland is to be scheduled at what is peak viewing time on a Saturday night, McGlade is also conscious of the challenge which all of that poses.

" We will be going head to head with some of the most heavily resourced programmes which the main channels have to offer ", he says.

" It won't be easy, but our team are confident that in Entertainment Ireland we have a show which will make its mark with the viewing public in a very short time".

The first programme in the series goes out on Saturday, September 13th, at 9pm on the Irish TV Channel, Sky 191 and Freesat 400, with a repeat in mid week.
