The road safety officer in Mayo County Council is appealing to taxi and hackneys drivers throughout Co. Mayo, to email their contact details (name ,phone number and the town/County area they cover) to the road safety office roadsafety@mayococo.ie.

A road safety campaign will be run over the Christmas period where the contact details of all the taxi and hackneys drivers who have agreed to take part in the campaign by forwarding their details to the road safety office of Mayo County Council will be made available to people out socialising over the Christmas period.

Aims of campaign:

• To raise awareness of the issue of drunk pedestrians as a serious problem in Co.Mayo,
• To provide practical advice/solutions,
• To reduce drunk pedestrian casualties in Co.Mayo,
• The campaign will be promoted in night clubs and bars throughout Co.Mayo.
