The 5th Castlebar Adventure Film Festival will be taking place this weekend (28th-29th) at the Linenhall Hall Arts Centre. Film submissions come from across the globe; last year saw entries from Canada, USA, Germany, New Zealand and Chile as well as many Irish and UK entries. Films are generally up to ten minutes long allowing a high number of diverse films to be shown each night. Screenings normally run for approximately 2 hours. The type of films entered can be anything as long as it is adventure sport related and typically range from kayaking, skiing/snowboarding, rockclimbing, surfing and MTB. What makes the film fest unique is the fact that both professional and amateur films are showcased alongside one another. There is also an award ceremony on the Saturday night for best film(s). This is the only event of its type in Ireland. For more information visit
the Linenhall website.

The event kicks off at 7:30 pm both Friday and Saturday night and admission is €7 for students and €10 for adults.
