The next meeting of Castlebar GIY (Grow it Yourself) is on Monday, 8th April. It will be held in the Le Cheile Family Resource Centre, Tucker Street, at 7.30 pm. The topic for the evening will be 'Foraging For Wild Food', and we are delighted that our guest speaker will be Zane Joyce of the 'Nature School', Laghtavarry, which is located a few miles outside Castlebar. Zane is a native of Latvia where foraging skills are still widely used.

"Nature School is dedicated to helping children and adults to reconnect with nature. We welcome students to our native woodlands located in the West of Ireland where we run close to nature courses such as permaculture, woodland management, foraging, natural soap making, wine making etc. We also travel to schools to assist teachers in establishing "outdoor classrooms" at their schools."
