Wild Food as Medicine

Mayo Organic Group's June meeting will be Wild Food as Medicine - a
practical session with local forager member, Sally Harte, illustrating
some of the ways we can add wild foods to our kitchen & bathroom.
With demonstrations, recipes & tastings, teas, infusions, extractions,
& more. Anyone wishing to take away samples, should bring some small
bottles or jars on the night. The meeting will take place at Balla
Community Centre, at 7.30pm on Thursday 15th June.

Everyday we are engaging in herbalism without realising it. In this
wild food talk forager Sally would like to present wild plants you may
know, for their culinary uses, for their medicinal principles and also
explore how this herbalism can take the form of sparkling refreshing
drinks, enjoyable cocktails which aid digestion, medicinal tinctures,
hedgerow and bog plant teas, salad dressings, hair conditioners and
bug repellant sprays.
