Castlebar to Honour Brennan

Just a month since the historic unveiling of a headstone at the burial place of Louis Brennan, this famous Castlebar born Inventor will be commemorated in his home town.

Final plans are being put in place for the unveiling ceremony of a plaque at the birthplace of Louis Phillip Brennan, Inventor Extraordinaire at Main Street, Castlebar on Tuesday evening next April 15th commencing at 7p.m.

Commodore Mark Mellett, Vice Commander, Irish Armed Forces will perform the official ceremony . This will be followed by the launch of an exhibition on the life and career of this famous Castlebar born genius at Mayo County Library at 8p.m. This exhibition will include some Brennan family memorabilia that has previously been unseen by members of the public.

Also on display in the library will be a display by pupils from sixth class in St. Patrick's Boys Primary School.
