Well-known Castlebar man Dan O’Neill, who played at midfield on the last Louth team to win the All-Ireland senior football title in 1957, will sign copies of his autobiography, Divided Loyalties, in Castlebar on Saturday, November 22nd.

The signing will take place from 12noon in Eason’s, Main Street, and all are welcome to come along.

The official launch of the book takes place on Friday night, November 21st, in the TF Royal Theatre & Hotel at 8o’c.

The book covers Louth’s famous 1957 triumph in full, as well as detailing Dan’s life in Co. Louth, his times playing Gaelic football with his native Co. Mayo, and his work with Ireland-West Tourism which took him to all parts of the west.

Dan O’Neill is now retired in Kingston, Salthill. He won a National League medal with Mayo in 1954, and also wore the jersey of Castlebar Mitchels with distinction.

He is the first Mayo player of his generation to produce his autobiography.
