Mr. Michael Ring T.D., Minister for Rural & Community Development, greets a group of tourists from the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on the occasion of their visit to Knock Shrine. The visitors were partaking in a tour entitled 'An Ecclesiastical Tour of Co. Mayo'. Throughout the course of their eleven days in Co. Mayo, the group visited many of the county's ecclesiastical sites, including Ballintubber Abbey, Croagh Patrick, Fr. Peyton Center and Knock Shrine.

Other attractions on their itinerary included the Jackie Clarke Museum, Ceide Fields, Foxford Woollen mills, Museum of Country Life, Glen Keen farm, Achill Island and a cruise on Lough Corrib. One of the unique selling points of this tour was its more 'leisurely' pace and 'quality time' in one region, with all day trips within a comfortable distance from their accommodation in the Castlecourt Hotel, Westport. The itinerary for the tour was co-ordinated by Michael Larkin in collaboration with the Diocese of Pittsburgh and Unitours Inc.
