New GP surgery opens in Castlebar

A new General Practice (GP) surgery has opened in Castlebar. Dr Stephen Patten, who has worked in Castlebar for the last four years, has opened the surgery on Thomas Street in the town.

The surgery is open Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm, including through lunchtime. Consultation is by appointment. The number to contact the surgery is 0949021999.

Private patients and new medical card applicants are welcome to the practice. Unfortunately due to HSE restrictions existing medical card holders are unable to transfer at present.

Dr Patten said " We have had many calls, cards and even flowers from patients, friends and family wishing us well. Hopeful a new GP practice can be of benefit to the people of Castlebar and the surrounding areas."
