Do Councillors Favour 100 ft Statue?

There has been no response from any Town councillors regarding the 100ft st.patrick statue that was originally planned for the top of Croagh Patrick.

When asked would he consider locating his statue in Castlebar the sculptor Timothy Schmalz seemed keen.

A statue this beautiful and of this size would mean a huge economic boost for Castlebar. The project would be completely funded by American investors which means the Council would not habe to cover any costs. A recent poll showed 60 perecent of people were in favour of the idea despite not knowing the economic benefits.
