New Music Group ‘The Troubadours' Make Début
2011 may go down in history for many reasons, but it will definitely be marked as the year ‘The Troubadours' male vocal group have their début concert in Breaffy House Hotel, Castlebar on Friday, April 8th at 8pm. This is the long-awaited concert which was postponed due to the snow back in December.
Formed last year from male members of Castlebar Gospel Choir and directed by noted musical director Kathy Fahey, ‘The Troubadours' are an eclectic group of singers wishing to revive the power of storytelling through song in the true troubadour tradition. To embark on such a project has been a significant amount of work and the group have been busy preparing a wide and varied repertoire for the evening's entertainment.
The group made a fantastic and very-well received appearance as guests of Castlebar Gospel Choir, during their recent acclaimed concert in the TF Royal Theatre, singing two Billy Joel numbers. Since then the interest in the group has been raised dramatically with appearances sought already at a number of venues around the province.
From traditional song to more contemporary music, doo-wop to barber shop, ‘The Troubadours' promise a wonderful night's entertainment for all ages and tastes. For tickets, contact Breaffy House Hotel on 094 9022033 or alternatively from 085 1544675.
