On the 28th of August a fundraiser was held at the Punch Bowl, Ballyhean for the Oncology Ward in Mayo University Hospital. This event was to mark the 40th year of the opening of the Punch Bowl and in memory of Walter Staunton, who sadly passed away in June from Cancer.

The Punch Bowl was originally opened by Walter and Ann Staunton in August 1976 and is now ran by their son Laurence and daughter in-law Clare.

The fundraising night was a huge success, raising over €2,000, we would like to thank everyone who gave so generously to such a wonderful cause.

The Staunton family would like to take this opportunity to thank all the team at the Oncology Ward for all their hard work and support to Walter and the family, through his short illness.
