Taoiseach announces 19 high tech jobs in Mayo company CloudStrong

Taoiseach Enda Kenny announced (ONFriday 28 March 2014) that Mayo based cloud service provider, CloudStrong, will be tripling its workforce with the creation of 19 new jobs. CloudStrong has been supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through Enterprise Ireland under their HPSU programme to develop their export business in the UK and will create new roles in technical, sales and marketing.

Founded in 2011, Castlebar company CloudStrong specialises in providing cloud solutions and expertise to the ICT sector and has established itself as an authority on delivering complex SME projects to the cloud. CloudStrong has accelerated its export drive in the UK and expect sales to be worth €1.1 million by 2016.

Speaking during a visit to the company's premises, the Taoiseach Enda Kenny TD said: "This Government's top priority is creating jobs and getting people across the country back to work. It is hugely encouraging to see an Irish technology company like CloudStrong creating new jobs in the west. It is good news for the local region and it is also good news for the fast-growing cloud computing sector. This type of indigenous company growth is what the Government's Action Plan for Jobs is all about, and we will continue to provide strong policy support for innovative companies like CloudStrong so we can build on the 61,000 new jobs created in the past year."

Oliver Surdival, Managing Director, CloudStrong, said: ‘We are delighted to be creating job opportunities in the west. The main driver is the continued adoption of cloud solutions in the SME market. The team at CloudStrong has built a solid reputation in delivering complex SME projects to the cloud'.

Welcoming the announcement Lisa Vaughan, Head of Scaling and High Potential Start Ups at Enterprise Ireland, said: ‘Enterprise Ireland has worked closely with CloudStrong in supporting its strategic development and continued growth in export markets. This is an ambitious and innovative company and we look forward to continuing to work with them as they grow their business further'.

CloudStrong is a leading supplier of next generation cloud solutions and expertise to the ICT sector. By specialising in cloud technologies CloudStrong are able to provide a highly focused, specialised service to their customers. The company was co-founded by Oliver Surdival and Daryl Byrne back in 2011 to fill the infrastructural and skill gap that exists when transitioning complex SME projects to the Cloud.
