New Credit Union Pension Service

Castlebar Credit Union has launched a new Pension-PRSA (Personal Retirement Savings Account) service exclusively for its members. From today, members can set up a PRSA pension plan at their local Credit Union.

This new service has become available due to a partnership initiative between the ILCU (Irish League of Credit Unions) and Zurich Life Ireland (formerly known as Eagle Star Life) announced in March 2007. ILCU member credit unions are now able to offer Eagle Star PRSAs to their members under this partnership agreement. The link-up followed demand for pensions among credit union members and the signing of a new regulation by the then Minister for Finance, Brian Cowen.

This initiative shows the commitment of Zurich Life and Credit Unions to help members choose how they put in place their financial plans - when they decide to avail of the local personal service that their Credit Union offers.
