To mark the departure of Fr. Nohilly after ten years as the local priest in Breaffy the Community Council along with the wider community held a social in the GAA club house on Tuesday evening the 17th July 07.  Fr. Nohilly came to Breaffy in July 1997. A large crowd attended which was a tribute and a measure of how well he was received over the 10 years.   There were several presentations made to him on the night from the various community organizations both from within the Breaffy area and the wider Castlebar Parish.  The Breaffy Community Council on behalf of the wider community wish him well in his new parish: Moylough County Galway.  They especially wanted to say thank you to Fr Nohilly for the 10 years he spent there with them.  The community would also like to welcome to Breaffy his replacement Fr. John McCormac who like Fr. Nohilly is a missionary priest.
