Mayo Cherishing the Irish Diaspora committee 2017, honouring Michael Conroy RIP, a victim of the Butte Granite Speculator Mine Disaster June 1917 where a 168 perished. Michael was a native of Barnacarroll Claremorris. In attendance was Pat Quinn, Governor of Chicago Illinois USA who’s uncle died in Butte in 1917 in an explosion.
