Mayo Mental Health Poster Competition

Mayo Mental Health Association held an Art Poster Competition in five primary schools in the Castlebar area for students. Participating students were requested to include a "Positive Mental Health" slogan on their posters.

The competition was highly successful and students from all five schools entered the competition. Mayo Mental health Association held a prize giving day at which teachers, students and parents attended. The prizes were presented to the winning students by Mr John Maughan, GAA Sports personality, in the Association's New Information Centre and Office at 2 New Antrim Street Castlebar, County Mayo.

The chairman Mr P.J. Murphy thanked all the participants, their teachers and parents, he also thanked the Karen Serantes, Myra Walshe, and Carmel Barrett whoe were involved in organising the competition. The adjudicators were Sue Hawkshaw and Sinead McGarry and the chairman also thanked Jimmy Murphy for his help and assistance.

Members of the Association will be visiting the five participating schools to present certificates of merit and Mayo Mental Health Association information packs to all students who participated.
