At Outdoor Explorers Preschool we are proud to be Mayo's first outdoor preschool. We offer an exciting and unique opportunity for pre-school children to experience the freedom of the natural world first-hand. Our days are filled with activities and play led by the children's innate curiosity, with our caring and encouraging practitioners in close proximity observing and enhancing their learning. Your child will celebrate being outdoors learning that rain and dirt are ways of life and not a reason to be miserable indoors, we believe that there is no such thing as bad weather only bad clothing! And our clothing is perfectly suitable for the adventures they will discover in our purpose built playground which stimulates every aspect of the child's senses in an environment where the canvas of schooling changes almost hourly. Children experience less stress outdoors; it also enhances their cognitive social emotional and gross motor skills. Our preschool fulfils the same basic principle as other preschools namely to care for, stimulate and educate your child only we do it in a school without walls in an enriched atmosphere, Outdoor preschools(barnehage) have been in operation in Norway since the early 90's where children stay outdoors hail rain sleet or snow. Our staff are fully trained in fetac level 5 and 6 in childcare as well as occupational and paediatric first aid.
