St. Anthony's School celebrates another successful year!
Students from St. Anthony's Special School had another successful graduation and awards day recently when two school leavers Rebecca Walsh and Angelika Caplap were presented with their Graduation Yearbooks and commemorative plaques from Johnny Mee Chairperson as they completed their education at St. Anthony's.
Johnny Mee wished the young adults the very best of luck as they move on to their adult placements.

Also being awarded ASDAN certificates of achievement for outstanding work carried out over the past year were students from senior classes 5 and 6. These students completed modules of work in areas such as Horticulture, Water skills and Preparation for Work and were presented with their certificates by Johnny Mee Chairperson and Ross Higgins School Leavers Co-ordinator.

This year there were two new awards sponsored by the Irish Special Schools Sports Council for the girl and boy student who represented the Spirit of Sports over 2015-2016. Two students Angelika Caplap and Dillon Quigley were presented with these fabulous bronze Spirit of Sports 2016 plaques by teacher and PE co-ordinator Roisin O'Flaherty.

Finally there were very special presentations made to staff member Mary Gilhooley on her retirement from St. Anthony's as well as to Parish Priest Fr. John Cosgrove who retired as school chaplain at St. Anthony's School. Johnny Mee paid tribute to their dedicated work and service to the pupils of the school and wished them well and a long healthy retirement.

It was a great day for the students and staff at St. Anthony's as families and friends gathered to celebrate another successful year and send out more students into the adult world. The staff and management at the school are to be commended on their great work with the young students who attend the school and we join with them as we wish the graduates the very best of luck as they move into their adult lives.
