The month of May has been selected as Mayo Healthy Living Month. This initiative is being organised in conjunction with Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiac Foundation, in collaboration with Mayo HSE's Primary Community and Continuing Care Team.

A number of walks are being organised in local communities. The key emphasis of these walks is to encourage everyone to be more active. These walks are organised to encourage those who do not usually get moving to get out even if it is just a little to get started.

In Castlebar guided walks will led by Brian Hoban, Local Guide on Tuesdays 8th May and 15th May at Lough Lannagh. Both these walks are easy, just 3 km in length and should appeal to all levels of fitness. . Assembly for both of these walks will be at the bridge beside Aldi, car park at 8p.m.

On Sundays May 13th and May 20th guided walks led by BrIan Hoban, Local Guide will be held at Moorehall commencing at 3p.m. These walks are also classified as easy, just 3 km in length and should appeal to all levels of fitness. Assembly for both of these walks Moorehall car park.
