No truth in Shell Corrib field pullout rumour?

The Mayo News reports on Enterprise Energy Ireland's furious reaction to claims that its parent company, Shell Plc., intends to abandon the Corrib field in favour of a new find in the Gulf of Mexico. As the deadline draws near for An Bord Pleanála’s long-awaited decision into the Corrib Gas project, tensions are mounting. An Bord Pleanala has already delayed its decision due to the complexity and amount of material presented at last year's Ballina hearing.  

Woollen Mills Millions?

More than 100 years after the establishment of the Foxford Woollen Mills a section of the world-famous factory on the banks of the River Moy has been put up for sale—with a whopping guide price of 21 million.

Pontoon Bridge celebrates

The Geary family of Pontoon Bridge Hotel celebrate 40 years in the tourism business on the isthmus between Lough Conn and Lough Cullin. Tourism is a tough business but the Geary's have developed many additional attractions to complement the beautiful scenery that surrounds them. Their school of Landscape Painting and fly-fishing in particular have been very successful draws to the area.
